แน่นอนว่าช่วงสองสามวันที่ผ่านมา มีแต่คนพูดถึง HeartBleed แต่ว่ามันคืออะไรแล้วมีผลกระทบอย่างไร ซึ่งอาจทำให้ผู้ใช้ต้องเปลี่ยน password หรือรหัสผ่าน เพราะอาจได้รับผลกระทบจากจุดผิดพลาดดังกล่าว  
Heartbeat เป็น extension หนึ่งของ SSL และ TLS ซึ่งเป็นโปรโตคอลสำคัญที่ทำการเข้ารหัสเพื่อป้องกันการล้วงข้อมูลระหว่างการเปิดใช้ website โดยเฉพาะการทำธุรกรรมทางการเงิน หรือการล็อคอินทางเว็บไซต์  ซึ่งมีการพบการผิดพลาดบนการทำงานของ extension ดังกล่าว ทำให้เว็บไซต์ที่ใช้ heartbeat  จะต้องทำการแก้ไขอย่างเร่งด่วน เพราะทำให้ ข้อมูลของผู้ใช้อาจถูกเปิดเผย และถูกขโมย password

Password Managers

1Passwordไม่ไม่ไม่1Password said in a blog post that its technology "is not built upon SSL/TLS in general, and not upon OpenSSL in particular." So users don't need to change their master password.
Dashlaneใช่ใช่ไม่Dashlane said in a blog post users' accounts were not impacted and the master password is safe as it is never transmitted. The site does use OpenSSL when syncing data with its servers but Dashlane said it has patched the bug, issued new SSL certificates and revoked previous ones.
LastPassใช่ใช่ไม่"Though LastPass employs OpenSSL, we have multiple layers of encryption to protect our users and never have access to those encryption keys." Users don't need to change their master passwords because they're never sent to the server. But passwords for other sites stored in LastPass might need to be changed.
